young voters at Dataran Pekan here today.
Najib also appealed to the young people not to fall for the empty promises made by the opposition as they never had the intention to fulfil them.
"Their pledges are like honey laced with poison. Such populist pledges will destroy the country if implemented," he said.
More than 5,000 youths, who are mostly first-time voters, joined Najib at the special gathering.
Waving Barisan Nasional flags and "I Love PM" placards, the crowd
broke into a loud cheer and gave a thunderous applause when Najib
arrived at the venue about 4.15pm.
