GE13: Vote for a united pact, says Najib

RAUB: The people should not vote for a divisive pact as it is detrimental to the country's growth and survival, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said.

Najib said a loose coalition with their own ideologies would destroy the country and the damage irreversible.

"Do we want to see a situation where the Prime Minister's post is uncertain or rotated?

"Under Barisan Nasional, our transformation programmes have been successful and promises to the rakyat fulfilled.

"This is the first time I am asking for a mandate in order to continue with the responsibilities entrusted upon us.

"I promise the next five years would be much better than the last four," he said in his speech during the ground breaking ceremony of the UiTM branch campus here.

Also present were Pahang Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob and Barisan Nasional Raub parliamentary candidate Datuk Hoh Khai Mun and three state seats Datuk Shahiruddin Ab Moin (Dong), Datuk Abdul Aziz Mat Kiram (Batu Talam) and Wing Lay Hiang (Tras).

Najib, who is the Pekan MP, said under Barisan, the country had enjoyed 55 years of continuous development, growth and prosperity.

He said a strong mandate was necessary to see through other transformation initiatives, projects and plannings for the people's benefit.

On the RM230mil branch campus, Najib said it would be completed in 2015.

"Once operational, it would bring much benefit to the locals and enhance economic activities.

"Initially, it was offered to be built in Pekan but as the Prime Minister for all, I suggested to give it to Raub folks," he said.

Najib also took a swipe at Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, telling the people that many of his inner circle comrades had ditched him.

He said the DAP candidate for Raub parliamentary seat Datuk Mohd Ariff Sabri Abdul Aziz, a former Pulau Manis assemblyman, was dropped as he was quarelling with the locals.

"He came to ask my assistance and left when he was not fielded.

"This kind of leader is without principles and should not be supported.

"Do not vote for him just because he is a Malay," he said, while urging the people to give their votes to Hoh.

Najib said even the Malays rejected the DAP in Penang and Raub people should also do the same.
"MCA has never prevented us in promoting Islam instead it is the DAP.

"I urge the people to choose leaders with credibility and candidates from Barisan should be the people's choice tomorrow," he said.
