BN Gives Equal Attention To All Races - Najib

PEKAN, May 4 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said through the 1Malaysia philosophy, the country's multi-racial community is given fair, equitable and inclusive allocation as well as necessary attention by the government.

He said this policy and philosophy contributed to social and socio-economic justice which had ensured peace and wellbeing for all.

"Through this policy and philosophy, the rich are given a chance to continue prospering while the poor are given assistance," he said at the official opening of an additional wing at the SJK (C) Pekan, Saturday.

On education, the Prime Minister said each individual and community was given the freedom to choose their education without hindrance.

He said Malaysia was the only country, besides China and Hong Kong, which allowed Chinese school education and national type Chinese schools were even given the necessary aid.

Meanwhile, the ceremony's committee chairman, Tay Tick Long, thanked the BN government for continuous commitment in increasing the need of Chinese school education.

"The assistance provided by the government is also shared by all races because Malays and Indians also attend the school besides the Chinese," he said.

SJK (C) Pekan received RM2.9 million from the government to build an additional three-storey building in 2008 and it started being used in 2010.

At the ceremony, Najib announced an additional fund of RM300,000 to build another building for a pre-school at the school.
