Seven priorities for civil servants to ensure people get the best of government projects

PUTRAJAYA: Civil servants have been given seven priorities this year to ensure that the people will enjoy the best of the Government's programmes including the promises in Budget 2013.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said these priority areas would ensure that the country's wealth was distributed fairly while making sure that the national transformation programmes continue to have positive impact on the life of the people.

He listed the seven areas as:

• strengthening national unity;
• managing the economy;
• on-time implementation of projects and assistance in Budget 2013;
• continuation of the national transformation agenda;
• implementation of the National Blue Ocean Strategy;
• achieving ministers' KPI in full; and
• further improving the delivery system.

The Prime Minister said national unity and identity would be strengthened through the 1Malaysia concept where everyone, regardless of their race and location, would feel the Barisan Nasional Govern-ment was a fair and inclusive government. “All projects and financial assistance in Budget 2013 must be implemented according to schedule and the people must feel the impact.

“While civil servants will be receiving their half month's bonus this month, the distribution of financial aid including the (RM100) for school students and BR1M 2.0 (Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia) should not only be as scheduled but also to proceed smoothly,” he said at the Prime Minister's Department's monthly assembly here yesterday.

Also present was Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Najib said that in managing the economy, the Government would ensure a continued healthy growth and that the distribution of wealth to the rakyat is based on social justice.

“The national transformation agenda such as the GTP, ETP with its EPPs and the Strategic Reform Initiative will be continued.

“Programmes under the National Blue Ocean Strategy will be given priority while others including the National Education Blueprint will be implemented this year,” he said.

Najib said the opening of more Rural Transformation Centres, Urban Transformation Centres and implementation of the 1M4U programme would also be emphasised.

As for civil servants, Najib said there should be a continuation on improving the government delivery system.

“It must be done based on three aspects fast, accurate and with integrity,” he said.
