Bonus for civil servants being studied: PM

Putra Jaya: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the government will study the payment of a bonus for civil servants for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri to be celebrated soon.

"We will look into it, there is still time," he said at a media conference at the special meeting room in his office, here, shortly after witnessing the signing of an agreement between the North Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) and four companies that had agreed to invest RM1.96 billion in the states in the Northern Corridor of Malaysia.

He said this when referring to the possibility that there would be good news for the 1.4 million civil servants following the request by Cuepacs which was still hopeful that the government would pay a half-month bonus to public servants although they would be receiving their annual increment this month.

The Cuepacs statement cropped up a day after Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa said the government had yet to discuss the bonus payment, and the announcement on the Annual Salary Increment (KGT) twice this year could be considered as a bonus. - Bernama

Najib: Time for civil servants to fulfill mandate given by the people

PUTRAJAYA: Civil servants need to set a new standard by shifting to a new paradigm, reflecting the mandate, expectation and demand of the people said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

The reminder to move forward came in the wake of almost 30 days after the 13th General Election (GE13) which was held on May 5.

Najib said civil servants cannot afford to look back and waste any more time on excessive politicking because it would derail the task of fulfilling promises and aspiration of voters who have given the mandate during the GE13.

As for the GE13, the Prime Minister said the government had taken several steps and measures in accordance with the law to ensure a transparent, fair and just election, including accepting recommendations from the opposition parties.

"However, there are still some who dispute the results of the GE13 claiming electoral fraud. If we know the procedure, it is almost impossible for anyone to cheat in a big way," he said in his speech when addressing the staff of the Prime Minister's Department during a monthly gathering at Dataran Perdana, here, today, the first since the GE13.

Help me if you love me, Najib tells civil servants

Najib says he has ‘never forgotten the deeds of civil servants’.
PUTRAJAYA, April 18 — Civil servants were today asked by Datuk Seri Najib Razak to help him win Election 2013 as he launched an affordable housing project exclusively for residents here.

The Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman also took a dig at Datuk Husam Musa as the PAS candidate for Putrajaya seeks to canvass votes from civil servants since his candidacy was announced last week.

“I have never forgotten the deeds of civil servants ... If you love me, help me soon,” Najib told a packed auditorium in The Everly hotel here as the crowd held up “I love PM” signs.

Najib was launching the 1 Malaysia civil servants housing project (PPA1M), which offers 10,336 units of 1,000 to 1,500 square feet housing priced between RM150,000 and RM300,000.

The project was criticised by Husam last night in his first major rally near the federal administrative capital for using the pricier land in Putrajaya rather than the neighbouring Bukit Damar in Dengkil.

“If in these last few days someone asks to have tea with us in the canteen, please be careful,” Najib said, referring to Husam who has been approaching civil servants in Putrajaya recently.
