KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 18 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today said all students who scored excellent results in the Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) examination should be given due recognition and financial aid to pursue their studies.
"Excellent students should be given due recognition no matter where they are. @barisannasional gives incentive to 2,000 students who excelled in PMR examination in Penang," he said in his latest Twitter tweet today.
Penang BN will give cash incentive totalling RM475,200 to 2,376 students in the state who excelled in the 2012 PMR examination starting this Saturday.
According to Penang PMR Incentive Programme chairman, Koh Wan Leong, the cash incentive was aimed at encuraging the students to maintain their excellence performance in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination.
The presentation ceremony of the incentive is scheduled to be held from Jan 19 to 31 in selected locations.
