Najib delighted at rousing turnout at Indian Progressive Front gathering

SEMENYIH: More than 15,000 members of the Indian Progressive Front (IPF) and Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties flooded Dataran Tesco in Bandar Rincang, Semenyih to show support and recognition for the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

The presence of the country's number one leader in this quiet town brought thousands of visitors flooding into Semenyih.

Najib, who attended the "Selangor IPF Gathering with the Prime Minister" at 10am, was delighted with the rousing reception by Barisan supporters and people from the surrounding areas who waved the national flag to welcome him.

The crowd which started to gather as early as 8am turned the venue into a sea of Barisan T-shirts featuring the Prime Minister's picture.

Applause and shouts of "Hidup PM", Hidup Najib" "1 Malaysia" and "Ore Malaysia" continued for a good 10 minutes as the Prime Minister and component party leaders went up the stage accompanied by traditional Indian music.

Supporters and residents also took the opportunity to have a good view of Najib who was seen beaming as he shook hands with the crowd in Semenyih.

In his speech, Najib said: "Satu Malaysia, Ore Malaysia (1Malaysia in Tamil). I am very honoured and impressed with the strong support by IPF," he said. - Bernama
