PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Najib Razak believes that
more Malaysians should be able to buy their own house following the
increase in the monthly income ceiling for individual borrowers under
the 'My First Home Scheme' (SRP) from RM3,000 to RM5,000.
"The income ceiling for the 'My First Home Scheme' is raised to
RM5,000 from RM3,000. More Malaysians should be able to own a home," he
said in his latest tweet today.
Yesterday, Cagamas SRP announced that the income ceiling for
individual borrowers under the SRP would take effect from January 2013.
The increase was one of the SRP eligibility criteria announced in the 2013 Budget last year.
For joint borrowers, the income ceiling had been raised to RM10,000
per month, subject to the income of the individual borrower not
exceeding RM5,000 per month. -Bernama
