Najib Hopes KFA And Cardiff City FC Can Strengthen National Football

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 17 (Bernama) -- Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak hoped that the collaboration between the Kedah Football Association (KFA) and English Premier League's Cardiff City FC could also strengthen the sport on a national scale.

"I hope the collaboration between the Kedah FA and Cardiff City FC will strengthen the sport at the national level," the Prime Minister said on Twitter Saturday.

Two days ago, KFA and Cardiff City FC signed a memorandum of understanding to improve the performance and management of the state football team.

The KFA was represented by its honorary secretary and treasurer Aminuddin Omar while Cardiff City was represented by its director Datuk Lye Ek Seang.

In an earlier tweet, Najib said Malaysia was becoming increasingly well known as a quality destination for business travelers through its Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) initiatives.

The tweet also attached a link to an article published by Bernama titled 'Malaysia Aims To Become Asia's Business Events Hub - Najib'.

Several programmes have been put in place to attract incentive and business groups to Malaysia as part of its bigger economic agenda in becoming Asia's Business Events Hub.

Najib said business events had been included in the progressive ETP to grow business tourism arrivals from 5 percent to 8 percent of total arrivals.
