KUALA LUMPUR: Women must be given opportunities to contribute to the
country's development, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said
today.
He said when given opportunities, women have always shown themselves to be capable of living up to the duties and responsibilities placed upon them.
"Time and again, it has been proven that when given high-ranking positions in government, women have excelled," he said while launching National Women's Day 2013 at Putra World Trade Center.
He said this year's theme, "Respect Women", was a call for women to be treated with dignity whether at home or in the workplace.
