KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 15, 2013): More childcare centres
at workplaces will give women more freedom to pursue their career, said
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak.
He said this in his twitter posting today, which also attached a link to an article published by theSun with the heading, 'RM15 mil incentives to set up childcare centres at workplaces'.
A news report quoted Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Rohani Abdul Karim as saying that more childcare centres would be set up with grant incentives provided by the government.
Towards this end, the government has allocated RM15 million for grant incentives to assist operators of private childcare and education centres in setting up high quality centres.
Rohani also said Budget 2013 provided income tax exemptions for five years and industrial building allowance at the rate of 10% a year to operators of private childcare centres. – Bernama
