MBSA Complex renamed as Kedah UTC Complex - Najib

ALOR STAR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today announced the Majlis Bandaraya Alor Star (MBSA) Complex here will now be known as the Kedah UTC Complex.

He announced this at the official opening of the new Kedah UTC at  the five-storey building which formerly housed the City Point shopping mall.

Najib said Kedah UTC, the fifth in the country, would also be the first to offer a value added services, Community Service Desk (CSD).

"Through this CSD service, the public may apply to any government agencies here to organise a programme at their respective community or even at the UTC building itself.

"For example, a village head may apply to the relevant agency to organise a health talk or a blood donation drive at his community and the application would be channeled to the 1Malaysia Clinic," Najib said in his speech.

He said with the expanded services under the 2nd Phase of the UTC programmes, the centre would act as a channel to promote community events.

Kedah UTC Complex is the biggest UTC in the country to date, occupying over  20,000 sq ft area with an investment of RM50.5 million from the Finance Ministry to refurbish and renovate the building.
