KUALA LUMPUR -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak will
distribute special lanterns free of charge to followers of his Facebook
website 'Ah Jib Gor' beginning today in conjunction with the Mooncake
festival celebrated by the Chinese community on Sept 19.
Najib said in his Facebook that the Mooncake festival was an important traditional celebration among the Chinese community.
He conveyed his best wishes to the Chinese community for the Mooncake festival through his Facebook website.
According to the Facebook website, "Ah Jib Gor", his followers had only to fill up their personal details such as full name, house and e-mail addresses in the special column provided.
Each follower could only get two lanterns while stock lasts, according to the website.
According to the Chinese calendar, the Chinese community worldwide will celebrate the Mooncake festival on the 15th day of the eighth month each year.
The festival is also known as 'Pesta Perpaduan' (Unity Fair) because the full moon on that day symbolises a complete and united family. -- BERNAMA
