KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 15 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun
Razak described the MyDaftar campaign as a service that benefited
thousands of people in the country.
He said the campaign which was launched to resolve the Indian
community's documentation problems, had received a special recognition
from the United Nations (UN).
"MyDaftar campaign to resolve the Indian community's documentation
problem received UN recognition. A service benefiting thousands of
people," Najib said in his latest tweet Friday.
Yesterday, the Special Implementation Taskforce on the Indian Community
chief coordinator Datuk N. Sivasubramaniam said the UN recognised the
campaign as the Barisan Nasional (BN) government's sincere move towards
providing proper documentation for those without one.
Najib launched the nationwide MyDaftar campaign in Feb 2011 to assist
those among the Indian community who did not have a valid birth
certificate, identity card or citizenship.
