SEREMBAN: Some 50 DAP members from various branches in the state have praised Barisan Nasional for its Indian-friendly manifesto.

“We felt that the Barisan manifesto took into consideration the problems faced by the Indians and has outlined policies to help the community.

“But the manifesto of Pakatan Rakyat did not mention a word about the Indians,” said former Negri Sembilan DAP Wanita deputy chief K. Sarojadevi.

Together with some 50 other members from various divisions, the 54-year-old has vowed to quit the party.

“DAP was my life, that I was willing to live and die with, but I am very disappointed with it now.
“I am leaving it with a sad and heavy heart,” said Sarojadevi, who was also the secretary of Taman Tuanku Jaafar branch.

She added the decision of the Registrar of Societies of not recognising the party's central executive committee, plus other issues, had prompted her to make the move.

“This has shown that there were discrepancies in the party and I have no confidence in the leaders,” she told a press conference at Senawang BarisanNasional service center here on Sunday.

But Sarojadevi said, that for the moment, she had no plans to join any other political party, adding she had resigned from all party positions and would quit DAP by this week.
