Najib drops by The Curve for lunch with family

PETALING JAYA - Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his family spent a relaxing Sunday afternoon having a scrumptious lunch of Penang food with his family at a restaurant in The Curve here.

Shoppers were caught by surprise and eagerly took pictures of him, while some managed to shake hands with the Prime Minister.

Najib, who arrived at the Little Penang Cafe at 1.55pm yesterday, was accompanied by his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, son Nor Ashman, daughter Nooryana Najwa and her fiance Daniar Nazarbayev.

Najib, who was clad in a white t-shirt and dark pants, was seen enjoying asam laksa and an iced barley drink while his family members ordered dishes such as Siamese lemak laksa, rojak and ice kacang.

He obliged the requests of shoppers who wanted to take pictures with him.

A shopper Nik Mazliani Hazreen said Najib and Rosmah were friendly and down-to-earth.

"My six-year-old son exclaimed 1Malaysia' when he saw Najib," she said.

Cannis Chong, a promoter at The Curve, was also surprised to see Najib there.

"I took a picture of him and will show off the photograph to my friends on Facebook," said the 20-year-old.

Little Penang Cafe owner Joseph Chan said he was told of Najib's plans to come there on Saturday.

"This is his first visit to my cafe. I'm excited and honoured that he came here to try the food," said Chan, 48.

"Najib asked me if the food was authentic Penang food and I replied yes," he said.
