GE13: Time for the rakyat to choose wisely, say Cabinet ministers

PUTRAJAYA: The dissolution of Parliament announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak Wednesday will give people the opportunity to elect a government that can bring about excellence, progress and stability.

Information, Communications and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim said the 13th General Election (GE13) will give people the opportunity to evaluate and determine the direction and future of the country.

“In his speech, the Prime Minister hinted and hoped that the new government will continue to keep the promise of a strong, harmonious nation," he told reporters after attending the last cabinet meeting Wednesday.

Rais said the government was firm in its commitment and hopefully the people were on board with the struggle.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said people of different races are expected to continue providing strong support to Barisan Nasional (BN).

“We are confident the Prime Minister will continue to lead the country towards excellence," he said.

Liow who is also MCA deputy president, said his party was ready to face the election and will work hard to ensure victory for BN.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said he hoped the election will be peaceful.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom remained confident that the people will make the best decision.

"We pray BN would be able to achieve victory and continue ruling the country. We are confident that the people can assess which is best," he said. Bernama
