Solid PM-DPM ties good for Sabah: Musa

KOTA KINABALU (June 17, 2013): The solid partnership between Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his deputy, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, as well as strong support from all leaders and the people will ensure Sabah continues to develop and prosper, said Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman.

He said the state government and the people of Sabah had also congratulated Najib on his success in leading the Barisan Nasional (BN) to victory in the 13th general election (GE13).

Speaking at a state dinner in conjunction with the opening of the state assembly sitting in Likas near here tonight, he said today's state assembly sitting carried a significant meaning because the BN government was given the trust and mandate by the people to continue to administer and helm the government in Sabah.

The state government, he said, would continue to intensify efforts so that all development plans could be implemented smoothly.

He also called on all government employees to be more focused in carrying out their responsibilities so that all targets and the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that had been set could be achieved.

All challenges and obstacles have to be addressed in a collective and intelligent manner, as well as effectively," he added.

Musa also emphasised the importance of solid cooperation between leaders and civil servants for the formation of a strong and efficient team, especially to ensure success of the various development policies and programmes by the state and federal governments.

This, he said, included the direction of the state's development and progress, the Sabah Development Corridor (SDC),the government's transformation programmes and several other new agenda and initiatives.

Musa said the people had made their decision by giving a new mandate to BN and now "it is time to work, serve and contribute to the people".

"Therefore, I hope all elected representatives will make full use of the state assembly sitting as the best platform to not only participate actively in debates, but also, more importantly, every word said represent the voice of the grassroots," he added. – Bernama
