Najib gets courtesy call from Victoria Premier

PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has received a courtesy call from Dr Denis Napthine, Premier of the Australian state of Victoria.

They discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, among other things, during their meeting at his office yesterday.

Dr Napthine is leading his country's five-day Super Trade Mission to South-East Asia which began on Sunday.

Bilateral relations between Malaysia and Australia have been increasing in recent years, especially with the enforcement of the Malaysia-Australia Free Trade Agreement early this year.

Malaysia is Victoria's ninth biggest trading partner with bilateral trade valued at A$2.9bil (RM8.6bil) last year. - Bernama
