Najib reiterates heartfelt gratitude

SHAH ALAM: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today reiterated his profound gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to the people for giving the trust and confidence to the Barisan Nasional (BN) to continue helming the nation's leadership.

Najib, who is also BN Chairman and Umno President, conveyed his thanks, particularly to the Malays and the Bumiputera community, whom he described have buttressed their mandate and trust in the BN in the 13th General Election.
"What's more touching is that, Umno, as the pillar of the BN, has won more parliamentary seats from 79 to 88.
"This proved that whatever hindrances, obstacles, whatever allegations, accusations, Umno's transformative leadership, along with BN component parties, continue to remain strong and resilient as the party of the people's choice for the next five years to pursue the Malay and Bumiputera agenda in this beloved nation," he said when announcing measures to empower Bumiputera economy here.
Najib said after completion of the general election, "we heard all sorts of complaints and dissatisfactions raised by the Bumiputera community on their fate, future and direction, along with their children and grandchildren on this sovereign land "where our blood is spilt."

"We listen to your grouses, ladies and gentlemen. We also feel your pulses and your concerns, ladies nd gentlemen, Yes indeed!!!... we hear you...we hear you, loud and clear," he said.
Najib, who is also the Finance Ministry, today announced five main strategies to empower Bumiputeras' economy, encompassing human capital, equity ownership, non-finance assets, entrepreneurship and service delivery.
Also present at the event were Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, cabinet ministers, Bumiputera businessmen, academicians and thousands of students at Dewan Agong Tuanku Canselor, Universiti Teknologi Mara, here. -- BERNAMA
