NILAI- Getting together and having a chat with their neighbours
is a normal activity for most housewives in the evenings following the
tea time with their families.
Here in Taman Andalas, the scenario is not very much different with the housewives' talks usually centred around their children, perking up the neighbourly ties and adding on to the lively evening activities in the neighbourhood.
On April 25, however, the evening's excitement had a different reason altogether, as housewife Norhazani Mat Jidan, 35, had been just informed of the impending visit of Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to the state.
For the Kuala Lipis, Pahang born Norhazani, it was like a wish come true as she had harboured hopes of meeting up face-to-face with any one of the country's leaders in the four years since she moved into the housing area.
Seeing it as a golden opportunity, Norhazani quickly went through the details of Muhyiddin's scheduled visit to Negeri Sembilan on April 26.
TRAVELLING ON A MOTORBIKE
One programme caught her eyes -- the scheduled breakfast programme with the DPM and the people in Mantin, which was four kilometres away from her housing estate.
While she had no car, the lady was not one to give up and together with her friends made plans to make it to the breakfast programme.
Their journey was taken with Honda EX5 motorcycles, and together the team of ladies or 'mak kiah' made their way very early in the morning to Mantin to ensure a good seat at the event.
