LARGE TURNOUT: 20,000 people throng booths set up by 80 companies to look for better job opportunities.
KUALA TERENGGANU: WITH more than 20,000 visitors at its two-day
programme here alone, the BN Youth Job Fair '13 is proving to be most
successful one-stop carnival for job seekers in the country.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the job fair had achieved
its main objective, which was to allow employers to meet their
prospective employees under one roof.
"It is a successful programme as youth can apply for jobs that are
available at the carnival," said Najib who launched the job fair in
conjunction with the "Jelajah Janji Ditepati" programme at Dataran
Shahbandar here.
BN Youth Job Fair chairman Nazir Hussin Akhtar Husin said the large
number of visitors was because of the participation of 80 companies,
including corporations such as UMW Holdings Bhd, Celcom Axiata Bhd and
My E.G. Services Bhd.
He said more than 4,000 jobs were offered at the inaugural job fair in
the state, where various government agencies had also set up booths.
